Homes that are delayed due to the Elliott St Lateral line replacement:
Primarily the homes along the easement of Sunburst Lane/Elliott St, and several homes along the upper sections of First St (nearest to Elliot St). You will start to receive water as soon as the work is completed. Work started on April 6th. They hope to be completed end of month if all goes well.
For context, the board elected to get this work done now, to lower the risk of having a break during the heat of summer. We appreciate your patience to those directly impacted. Again, you can read more on the project by visiting our NEWS UPDATES page.
2026 dues are now payable online, or by mailed check and are due on or before April 30th, 2026. Click here to learn more.
Frequently Asked Questions:
The Washington Street Water Association is a independent, volunteer-run organization that works hand in hand with the Wenatchee Reclamation District to bring an affordable and reliable source of irrigation right to your backyard.
As of the 2026 calendar year, the board approved a one-time assessment of $600 to pay for much needed repairs to the irrigation. The assessement of $600 will include your yearly dues. Upon completion of the repair in 2026, the board will be meeting this fall to re-assess the 2027 dues to determine how best to re-build our reserve fund that will have been depleted for this repair.
The payment of the annual dues covers the cost for regular maintenance and repairs and allows water-shareholders access to the irrigation water supplied by the Washington Street Lateral. Therre are no funds from the City, therefore these dues are crucial for maintaining the system. The board is an elected group of (unpaid) volunteers. Shareholders with an unpaid balance may have their irrigation privileges revoked by the Washington Street Water Association.
As an Irrigation Water Shareholder using irrigation water from the Washington Street Lateral, it is required of you to pay the annual dues to the association. The money collected from the annual dues goes directly toward the maintenance of the lateral. As the lateral ages, leak repairs are far from an anomaly. Repairs are often very costly and because the Washington Street Water Association is independent of the Reclamation District, the money raised from the annual dues is the only "pool" of money the association can "dip" out of.
If you have any other questions concerning the annual dues, please contact Korey R. Korfiatis, Co-President, at koreykorfi@gmail.com or by calling 509-670-8421.
